Amazonite

Composition

Amazonite is a silicate, a combination of Potassium Aluminium Silicate and Copper. It is opaque in appearance and is a turquoise, green-blue colour, often with white marbling throughout.

General Information & Legends

Amazonite has been named after the Amazon River of South America, even though it is not found there and is probably a reference to the green colour of the tropical rain forest, or because it was rumoured to have been used on the shields of the Bronze Age Amazonian soldiers.

Amazonite attracts focus, good luck, joy and happiness. It blocks electromagnetic pollution and also block geopathic stress. It aligns the physical and subtle bodies whilst assisting to balance the masculine and feminine energies and aids with a peaceful transition when it is time to leave this life. It also helps you connect and communicate with Fairies and Nature Spirits.

The Egyptians carved amulets out of Amazonite which symbolised good luck and fertility. In the Book of the Dead, it states that The Judgment of Osiris was carved on tablets of Amazonite. Amazonite items such as beads, jewellery and a scarab ring set in silver were found in King Tutankhamun’s tomb.
