Blue Lace Agate is also known as “Blue Chalcedony Lace”. Its name comes from the lacy bands that are seen within the crystal. Blue Lace Agate is a common crystal mainly sourced from Brazil but also found in India, Romania, South Africa and Uruguay.

It is a banded agate variety of Chalcedony of the silicates class of crystals. Its colour is typically a pale or sky blue, banded with lacy white patterns and is partially translucent to opaque.

Blue Lace Agate is the crystal to use when diplomacy is needed, as it assists communication in situations where clear understanding is required, and when words spoken in anger must be avoided. It assists with the verbal expression of thoughts and feelings and is particularly useful if you struggle to express your emotions without getting upset.

It is a supportive crystal which will neutralise anger, infection, inflammation and fever and will inspire loyalty and trustworthiness. Actors who suffer from stage fright or people who have trouble speaking or performing in front of others will find this a useful crystal to carry.

In ancient lore, there are lots of references to Agate in general but none specific to Blue Lace Agate. However, it is associated with the following Goddesses:

Callisto, the Greek Moon Goddess, Chirakan-Ixmucane, the Mayan Creator Goddess, Dione, Phoenician Earth Goddess; Itzpapalotl, the Aztec Butterfly Goddess, and Iana, the Roman Goddess of Secret and Hidden Things.

Connecting the Higher & Lower Chakras

Blue Lace Agate is not associated with any particular Angel but you could use it in meditation to connect with Archangel Raguel who has a pale blue aura, and whose name means "Friend of God" he will help you to heal relationships.

Blue Lace Agate is primarily associated with the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) relating to clairaudience ability and its secondary chakra is the Third Eye (Ajna) to stimulate psychic abilities and communications with beings of higher realms.

In crystal healing, Blue Lace Agate is said to help with symptoms relating to the following illnesses and areas of the body: abdomen, aches, arthritis, asthma, brain, bruises, colds, dental pain/problems, eyes, fever, glands, headaches, indigestion, infection, laryngitis, pancreas, poisons, psoriasis, shingles, sinus, stutter, tonsillitis, ulcers, urinary problems, warts and wounds.

It soothes sore eyes as well as skin problems associated with redness and irritation.

Emotionally, Blue Lace Agate is said to assist with reducing feelings of anger, anxiety, conflicts and frustration; whilst helping to bring calm, harmony, honesty, hope, joy, optimism, peace, positive thinking, truth and unity to the user. It will also aid with cleansing and purification and helps with an appreciation for nature whilst leaving you with a sense of peace, protection and tranquillity.

Blue Lace Agate is not a traditional or ancient birthstone; but is a modern birthstone for the Zodiac sign of Pisces, 19th February to 20th March.

Blue Lace Agate is not on the anniversary list but Agate in general is a 12th anniversary crystal.

Blue Lace Agate is a perfect crystal for meditating with to help encourage a calm relaxing state which allows the mind to open itself to higher thought and inner truths. It can be used for expanding consciousness and awareness in the meditative state.
