 Deeper Insights

Blue Tiger Eye, the “Writers Stone”, is also known as “Hawk's Eye” and “Falcon's Eye”. It is a commonly found crystal, predominantly in Brazil, Canada, India, Namibia and South Africa. It is a Silicon Dioxide of the silicates class of crystals. It comes in various shades of Indigo (dark blue) and is opaque in appearance with a striped chatoyance.

In ancient history, Blue Tiger Eye was thought to be an all-seeing stone of protection, capable of warding off the evil eye. It may also have been known as “Wolf Stone” and/or possibly as “Oculus Belus”, dedicated to the Mesopotamian God Belus. Blue Tiger Eye, as would be expected of a crystal that resembles the eye of a bird of prey, is of great use for helping us in looking past the obvious in order to see the bigger picture and thus allow a deeper insight into situations.

It is said to increase the sensory gifts such as the clairs: clairaudience (hearing), claircognizance (knowing), clairgustation (taste), clairolfaction (smell), clairsentience (feeling/sensing), and clairvoyance (seeing), as well as aiding astral travel, keeping you safe in your journey.

If you need to speak or give a presentation in public and you have that throat tightening feeling of anxiety, this crystal is said to relax your Throat Chakra and allow you to speak with confidence and clarity, and to express your personal truth. It is also a useful crystal for all other types of communication, including releasing “writer's block” by increasing your imagination to come up with new ideas and concepts. It is reported that, as a result of its association with the Hawk, it is especially helpful to help ease the fear of flying.

Blue Tiger Eye is not associated with any particular Goddess. However, Sophia, the Goddess of Wisdom, resonates with Indigo-coloured crystals and Tiger Eye in general honours the following Goddesses:

Bastet, the Egyptian Cat Goddess who is the ruler of love, fertility, sensuality and music.

Freya, the Norse Goddess of Beauty and Love. She is responsible for the souls of warriors who die in battle and reunites them with their wives after death.

Sekhmet, the Egyptian Lion Goddess of War and Healing.

Blue Tiger Eye is not associated with any particular Angel. However, Archangel Zadkiel, the Angel of Compassion and Forgiveness whose name means “Righteousness of God”, has an Indigo aura so you could ask for his help and guidance in relation to letting go of judgemental and non-forgiving thoughts.

Blue Tiger Eye is primarily associated with the Third Eye or Brow Chakra (Ajna), relating to insight, intuition, awareness and guidance. Its secondary Chakra is the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha), relating to communication, and it is from where you speak your truth.

In crystal healing, Blue Tiger Eye is said to help with symptoms, relating to the following illnesses and areas of the body: angina, asthma, degenerative diseases, endocrine system, eye focus and infections, fatigue, fertility, libido/sex drive, lower blood pressure, mental clarity and focus, metabolism balance, stomach problems, throat problems and vitality. It is believed that if this crystal is placed on the head, it is able to re-balance the brain’s hemispheres. It is also thought to be an excellent crystal to use for animal healing.

Emotionally, Blue Tiger Eye is said to assist with anxiety, brotherly love, calming, communication and expression, depression, dignity, emotional balance, honesty, letting go, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), self-respect, self-worth, stress and tension.

Spiritually, Blue Tiger Eye is said to aid aura opening, clarity, enhance intuition, insight, universal love and truth.

Blue Tiger Eye is not on any of the birthstone lists but Tiger Eye in general is a modern birthstone for the Zodiac signs of Capricorn (22nd December - 19th January) and Gemini (21st May - 20th June).

Blue Tiger Eye is not specifically on the anniversary list but Tiger Eye, in general, is on the alternate anniversary list for the 9th anniversary.

Important to Know

WARNING: As with all crystals you use regularly, don’t forget to cleanse and recharge it at least once a month.

For crystal healers who use crystals in their work, they should be cleansed after each client to remove any negative energy prior to being used on someone else.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Although the powers of crystals and stones are well documented and have been proven to help bring positivity into people's lives, they are never a substitute for medical advice.
