The Mountain Stone

K2 the “Mountain Stone” is also sometimes called “K2 Jasper” even though it is not a form of Jasper. It is found in the foothills of the second-highest mountain on Earth, Mount K2 which is also known as Mount Godwin-Austen or Chhogori, in the Karakoram mountain range which borders Pakistan and China; hence the name and is a fairly recent discovery.

K2 is a rare crystal as it is difficult to mine in this area. It has an Orthoclase, Mica, Sodium, and Quartz matrix (Granite) with Azurite inclusions. It is a mottled grey / white colour with bright blue spots within it and is opaque in appearance.

K2 is a high vibrational and powerful crystal allowing not only for the reconciliation of our own internal conflicts but also aids harmony in relationships in groups of people. It brings about peaceful resolutions by understanding other people’s points of view. It allows you to have clarity of thought and to see the bigger picture; enabling you to see your true purpose for this lifetime.

It awakens or increases intuition and psychic abilities allowing for clear communication and understanding of information from our guides and for the exploration of past lives and the karma that may have been brought forward from them. It can also be used during astral travelling and is a valuable tool for those engaged in soul retrieval. It helps to not only protect from nightmares but also to assist in dream interpretation.

K2 is not associated with any particular Goddess. However, Azurite resonates with the following Goddesses: Athena, the Greek Goddess of War, Fuchi, the Ancient Japanese Goddess of Fire and of Mount Fuji, and Isis, the Egyptian Goddess of Life.

Cosmic Awareness

K2 is not associated with any particular angel; although with its high-vibrational and protective qualities, it could be used to connect with Archangel Michael when you feel the need for his protection against psychic attack.

K2 is primarily associated with the Third Eye or Brow Chakra (Ajna), relating to insight, intuition, awareness and guidance. Its secondary Chakra is the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha), relating to communication and this is from where you speak your truth.

In crystal healing, K2 is said to help with illnesses and symptoms, relating to headaches and migraines and the strengthening of bones. The Azurite within it is said to help with arthritis, asthma, blood disorders, brain disorders, gall bladder, kidneys, liver disorders, muscle pain, rheumatism, sinus congestion, skin infections, sore throats, spleen, thyroid balance, tinnitus and vertigo.

Emotionally, K2 is said to assist with controlling emotions in order to feel more centred and balanced. It also helps with clairvoyance, communication and connecting with the higher self, cosmic awareness and consciousness.

K2 is not a traditional or ancient birthstone but is a natural birthstone for the Zodiac sign of Pisces, 19th February to 20th March.

K2 is not on the anniversary list.

Meditation

K2 is a perfect crystal for meditating with to ground and protect whilst connecting with spirit guides and healers and to understand the messages you receive from them. It can also enhance spiritual journeying in order to receive guidance from the highest source and to access the Akashic Records.
