The Stone of Emotions

Kunzite, the “Woman’s Stone” and the “Stone of Emotion”, is the pink to violet version of Spodumene. It was discovered in early 1902 in San Diego, California by George Frederick Kunz, a famous gemmologist, and was named after him. Kunzite is a relatively common crystal found in Afghanistan, America, Australia, Brazil, Madagascar, Myanmar and Pakistan.

It is a Lithium Aluminium Silicate of the silicates class of crystals. It is pink in colour and is semi-translucent, clear or almost opaque; it may also appear as violet-pink or colourless. Lilac Kunzite is more expensive, has a higher vibration and resonates with the Third Eye Chakra. There is also a green and yellow-green Kunzite crystal which is known as Hiddenite.

Kunzite is a good crystal for helping with self-love, romantic love and for communicating love to others as well as helping to heal from heartache. It can help you become more contemplative and introspective. It can clear the aura as well as clearing negative energy from a room or environment; and can be used to release energy blockages, remove emotional baggage and increase the acceptance of Divine Love.

It is reported to help heal the inner child, and release the past, and any fear-based around past issues that may be holding you back; whilst restoring your trust in yourself and others. Kunzite will restore your emotional balance and remove anything that’s causing you pain.

There are no legends associated with this crystal but it is believed that the wearer of Kunzite gemstones will be blessed with good fortune and that a woman who wears Kunzite will find and keep the lover or husband of her choice for as long as she so desires.

Kunzite is associated with the Goddess Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty, who is also known as Venus, the Roman Goddess of Love. It is also associated with Astarte, the Phoenician Goddess of Fertility, Love and War, who is also said to be the Queen of the Stars. She helps with troubled love and keeps lovers faithful to one another.

Unconditional Love

Kunzite is associated with Angel Shekinah (The Eternal Shekinah El), the Queen of Heaven, who is also called the angel of deliverance. The Shekinah is the feminine side of Archangel Metatron.

Kunzite is primarily associated with the Heart Chakra (Anahata), relating to love and compassion. Its secondary Chakra, in its more violet form, is the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna), relating to insight, intuition, awareness and guidance. It is a very high vibrational crystal that aligns the Heart Chakra with the Throat and Third Eye Chakras to support loving communication. It also aids the unification of the soul with the heart.

In crystal healing, Kunzite is said to help with illnesses and symptoms relating to addictions, anaemia, brain disorders, the dying process and transitioning, epilepsy, immune system strengthening and support, inflammation, lungs, muscular/skeletal, swelling, swollen joints and the throat. It is also reported to be helpful post-operatively as it clears the remaining anaesthetic from the physical and energetic system.

Emotionally, Kunzite is said to assist with anxiety, bipolar disorder, calming, depression, emotional abuse, emotional balance, emotional blockages, gentleness, kindness, love, self-care, self-confidence, self-worth, soothing and unconditional love.

On a spiritual level, it assists with creativity and creative expression, divine love, divine guidance, enhances intuition, meditation and soul retrieval.

Kunzite is not a traditional or ancient birthstone but is a modern birthstone for the Zodiac signs of Taurus (20th April - 20th May), Leo (23rd July - 22nd August) and Scorpio (23rd October to 21st November).

Kunzite is not on the anniversary list.

Meditation

Kunzite is a perfect crystal for meditating with to go into a deep meditative state; particularly for those who find it difficult to meditate. It is said to assist in bringing through love in a higher more spiritual Divine way and it may be possible to help lift the vibration of the world whilst meditating with it.
