Compassion & Intent

Petalite, the “Angel Stone”, “Stone of Compassion” and “Stone of Intent”, is also known as “Castorite” in its clear state. It was first discovered by the Brazilian geologist José Bonifácio de Andrada e Silva in the early 1800s. The name Petalite comes from the Greek word pétalon, meaning a thin leaf or sheet of metal which priests wore on their chest, and líthos, meaning stone.

Petalite is a commonly found crystal, predominantly from Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Namibia and Sweden. It is an Aluminium Lithium Silicate of the silicates class of crystals. Although pink Petalite is the most common colour, it can also be found in clear, green, greenish-white, grey or yellowish-white and white and is transparent to translucent in appearance.

Petalite is a high-vibrational crystal which helps enhance the connection and communication with the Angelic Realm as well as Ascended Masters, spirit guides and totem animals. It may also be used in Shamanic Medicine Wheel ceremonies to protect the user whilst making spiritual contact and will also protect whilst astral travelling. It is useful when working on removing cords and attachments to release all negative energies from the physical and etheric body, as well as warding off psychic attacks.

Also, try using it for ancestral and karmic healing, as well as releasing emotional baggage. It is known as “The Stone of Compassion” because it assists in forgiving those who have hurt or wronged you, allowing you to move forward from what was holding you in the past.

Historically, Petalite had been used as a talisman as it was believed to destroy all black magic or other unwelcome forces.

Petalite is not associated with any particular Goddess, nor Angel. However, Archangel Ariel has a pale pink aura and is the Angel of Animals and Confidence. Ask for Ariel’s guidance in all things related to environmentalism.

Overcoming Abuse & Victimhood

In its pink form, Petalite is primarily associated with the Heart Chakra (Anahata), relating to love and compassion. Its secondary Chakras are the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara), relating to spiritual connection, understanding and enlightenment, the Third Eye or Brow Chakra (Ajna), relating to insight, intuition, awareness and guidance, and the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha), relating to communication, and is from where you speak your truth.

In its colourless or white form, it works with the Soul Star Chakra (sometimes called the seat of the soul, as it is the point where spiritual energy, and Divine love, enters the body). When carried or worn on the body, Petalite constantly energises, balances and activates all of the energy centres of the body.

In crystal healing, Petalite is said to help with symptoms relating to the following illnesses and areas of the body: ADD, ADHD, AIDS, bones, cancer (it is reported to help reduce tumours and increase cell renewal), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, endocrine system, eyes, hypertension (high blood pressure), intestines, lungs, muscle spasms and musculoskeletal flexibility.

Emotionally, Petalite is said to assist with anxiety, bullying, emotional trauma, overcoming abuse/victim patterns, self-acceptance, self-love and stress. Petalite contains lithium, which makes it beneficial to people who have depression and other mood disorders.

Spiritually, Petalite is said to aid communication with the Angelic realm, cutting etheric cords, grounding and protection, and increasing psychic abilities such as clairaudience, clairsentience and clairvoyance.

Petalite is not a traditional or ancient birthstone but is a modern birthstone for the Zodiac sign of Leo (23rd July - 22nd August).

Its powerful vibrational energy aids connection with the higher realms as it elevates you up into and beyond the Soul Star Chakra.
